Awareness Raising Workshop

Event date:
06/11/2012
Excessive overtime, improper pay and unsafe working conditions are the typical challenges found on the factory floor. The Awareness Raising Workshop’s aim is to help factories understand these challenges and how they impact workers and business (e.g., product quality). The Workshop also introduces the BSCI program, in particular how audits identify these challenges on the manufacturing floor and provide a high level direction in remedying them.
Attendees will be introduced to the BSCI Code of Conduct, ILO Conventions and national labour legislation.

This one day workshop is designed for suppliers and subcontractors who are new to the BSCI program or those who pose a level of “compliance” risk for members. For suppliers who are familiar with BSCI, they can participate in the advanced workshops on factory safety or labour practices.

Suitable attendees for this session are mid to senior level factory managers who are empowered to change labour or production practices.

Registration process: typically, members will ask their suppliers to attend. Suppliers seeking to attend must obtain an invitation from their buyer.
